Professor Oscar Dubon, Associate Dean of Equity and Inclusion in the College of Engineering, and Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, has been selected as this year’s winner of the Chancellor’s Award for Advancing Institutional Excellence and Equity.  This award was established in 2006 and is given annually to “acknowledge meritorious achievement by faculty in pursuit of the University’s mission to create an inclusive environment, serving the needs of our increasingly diverse state, and highlighting inequalities in society and the pathways to resolving them.”  Professor Dubon was selected for this award in recognition of “the breadth and depth” of his work on diversity and access in engineering, and his outstanding record in mentoring of underrepresented students in STEM fields.  More details about the Chancellor’s Award for Advancing Institutional Excellence and Equity can be found here.
