  • Dr. Cao's research experience has been in the optical and magneto-optical investigation of low-dimensional electronic and magnetic solids, strongly correlated systems, and novel molecular magnets. He is currently working on strain engineering of phase transition in transition metal oxide nanomaterials, and junction thermoelectrics.

  • Mr. Khanal arrived at Berkeley in the Fall of 2005. He spent his first year working on engineering metal impurities in dirty silicon for low-cost solar cells with the Weber Group. In the summer of 2006, he worked at SunPower Corporation in San Jose, CA on improving solar cell wafer strength. He joined the Wu group that summer and now works on advanced characterization and modeling of semiconductor nanowires.

  • Ms. Yim joined the Wu group in summer of 2006. Her research includes growth and characterization of oxide nanowires and their phase transitions, and alloyed nanostructures for thermoelectric applications.

  • Mr. Brown joined the Wu group in fall of 2007. He currently works on characterizing CIGS thin film solar cells.
