Professor Andrew Minor Appointed Facility Director of National Center for Electron Microscopy

Professor Andrew Minor has been appointed the position of Facility Director of the National Center for Electron Microscopy (NCEM) at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.  Professor Minor is  a leading researcher in the nanoscale mechanical behavior of materials. He pioneered an analytical and imaging approach–combining nanoindentation-based in situ testing with TEM– a technique now used by many groups around the world, and which he has in recent years applied to a broader spectrum of hard and soft materials.  Professor Minor has been serving as Acting Director for NCEM since April, 2014, and he has played an essential role in overseeing its merger with the Molecular Foundry.

Congratulations Professor Minor!
