Education:
Sc.B. Materials Science, 2001 - Brown University with Honors
Research:
My research focuses on the photomagnetic effect in complex magnetic oxides. The photomagnetic effect refers to a change in magnetic properties upon illumination. We have observed photomagnetism at and above room temperature in the spinel ferrite (Mn,Zn,Fe)3O4 and confirmed the mechanism using X-ray magnetic circular dichroism with and without illumination.
Interests:
Renewable energy materials, photomagnetism, photovoltaics, hiking, pilates, science education.
