Professor Fuerstenau received his Sc.D. in Metallurgy-Mineral Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1953. In 1959 he joined the faculty at the University of California Berkeley, where he is now Professor in the Graduate School. Professor Fuerstenau has authored over 400 articles and has received numerous prestigious awards.
